Velari Full Cheek Bit Single Jointed Sweet Iron - combines a single-jointed mouthpiece made from nickel-free Sweet Iron with fixed Full Cheek sides. The single-jointed construction provides clear and direct transmission of the rein aids, while the extended cheeks offer additional lateral guidance and help keep the mouthpiece stable in the horse's mouth. This combination can be particularly helpful for younger or less experienced horses learning to understand lateral aids.

The Sweet Iron mouthpiece naturally oxidises during use and develops a light patina over time. According to the manufacturer, this process encourages salivation and can support softer, more relaxed acceptance of the bit. When the reins are taken, the single-jointed mouthpiece forms a V-shape and distributes pressure across the tongue and bars, creating a direct and clearly defined action.

The fixed Full Cheek sides support lateral guidance while keeping the mouthpiece quiet in the horse's mouth. This allows precise transmission of the rein aids and can be particularly useful for young or less experienced horses.
