Travel Boots or shipping boots are made from thick, padded material and are often extra long to cover the hock and the knee of the horses leg to provide maximum protection. This is due to the fact that some horses become unbalanced during transport and go down on their knees or hocks. The transport boots offer protection to avoid skin scrapes and cuts. Travel boots also often have extra durable material on the fetlock and hoof area to also prevent overreach injuries. 

It is recommended to travel your horse in transport boots to avoid unnecessary injuries occurring when in the trailer or truck. They are especially important if your horse tends to kick or often becomes unbalanced during transport. Before using travel boots it is always a good idea to get your horse used to them in a stable environment to ensure they do not panic in the trailer or truck with the the feeling of the boots on their legs.
