Eggbutt Double Jointed Sweet Iron

Velari Eggbutt Double Jointed Sweet Iron -  combines a double-jointed mouthpiece made from nickel-free Sweet Iron with fixed Eggbutt sides. The double-jointed construction distributes pressure evenly across the tongue and bars, while the Eggbutt rings keep the mouthpiece quiet and stable in the horse's mouth. This creates a consistent and balanced connection without unnecessary lateral movement.

The Sweet Iron mouthpiece naturally oxidises during use and develops a light patina over time. According to the manufacturer, this process encourages salivation and can support softer, more relaxed acceptance of the bit. At the same time, the double-jointed construction follows the natural contours of the horse's mouth and reduces the nutcracker effect associated with a single-jointed mouthpiece.

By reducing upward movement towards the roof of the mouth, the double-jointed construction is particularly suitable for horses with a lower palate according to the manufacturer. Fixed Eggbutt rings limit excessive lateral movement and reduce the risk of pinching at the corners of the mouth. Delivery times with standard shipping cannot be guaranteed. We highly recommend choosing express shipping if a guaranteed delivery time is required.

Import duties and taxes may apply depending on your country (this now includes the United Kingdom). Please check directly with your local customs authorities before placing your order. We are not responsible for any duties or taxes which may be incurred.
