According to the manufacturer, the Sweet Copper mouthpiece provides a warm, naturally sweet taste that stimulates salivation and can help sensitive horses remain soft and accepting in the contact. Sweet Copper does not oxidise according to the manufacturer, allowing it to maintain its smooth surface and consistent flavour over time.

When the reins are engaged, the single-jointed mouthpiece forms a V-shape and acts across the tongue and bars.
