Velari Pelham 2,5 Single Jointed Cherry Roller Sweet Iron - combines the leverage action of a Pelham with a single-jointed sweet iron mouthpiece and movable cherry rollers. Its short shanks provide measured leverage and give the rider additional options for refining the aids. The design is particularly suited to horses that become strong, pull against the hand or tend to grab a fixed mouthpiece.

The mouthpiece is made from sweet iron, which naturally oxidises during use and develops a light patina. According to the manufacturer, this process creates a taste that can encourage salivation and active mouthing. The movable cherry rollers complement this characteristic by encouraging additional tongue activity while making it more difficult for the horse to take hold of the mouthpiece or brace against it.

The Pelham can be ridden with two sets of reins or with a bit converter, allowing the direct and leverage actions to be used with greater differentiation. A curb chain can also be added to help stabilise the action. With its combination of Pelham leverage, a single-jointed mouthpiece and movable cherry rollers, this bit is particularly suited to riders who are familiar with managing this type of rein arrangement and leverage action.
