Velari Gag Eggbutt Single Jointed Cherry Roller Sweet Iron - combines the lifting action of a gag bit with a single-jointed sweet iron mouthpiece and movable cherry rollers. The eggbutt sides provide lateral stability, while the gag mechanism works through cheekpieces running through the rings to create a lifting action together with gentle poll pressure. This combination is particularly suited to horses that tend to lean onto the forehand, become strong or require additional support with balance and self-carriage.

The sweet iron mouthpiece naturally oxidises during use. According to the manufacturer, this process encourages salivation and can support acceptance of the bit and a softer contact. The single-jointed construction provides a clear and direct transmission of the rein aids.

The freely moving cherry rollers provide additional activity within the mouth. They discourage the horse from grabbing or bracing against the bit while simultaneously encouraging tongue movement. This can further stimulate salivation and support relaxation through the jaw.
