Half pads are designed to be positioned between the saddle pad and the saddle to reduce the pressure and absorb the impact on the horse's back. They can be made from memory foam, sheepskin or gel material. Horse saddle half pads should be shock absorbing, but at the same time not to thick so the rider and the horse can maintain a close contact. Half pads should also be breathable and come with a raised wither area to keep it free from any rubbing or pressure. Some half pads are integrated into the saddle pad to provide more convenience. Your can choose between thin half pads and thick half pads.
