The short shanks provide comparatively mild leverage, making the bit suitable for riders looking to combine direct rein communication with additional control.

The 18 mm mouthpiece features a firm synthetic coating with a rigid core. According to the manufacturer, the material is non-toxic, horse-safe and suitable for long-term use. Its smooth, non-metallic surface avoids the cold feel associated with traditional metal mouthpieces while maintaining clear transmission of the rein aids. The double-jointed construction distributes pressure evenly across the tongue and bars and reduces the nutcracker effect associated with single-jointed mouthpieces.

By reducing upward movement towards the roof of the mouth, the double-jointed construction is also suitable for horses with a lower palate according to the manufacturer.
