Velari Pelham Flex Single Jointed Short Medium - combines the direct action of a single-jointed mouthpiece with the refined leverage of short Pelham shanks. Its synthetic Flex mouthpiece provides an alternative to conventional metal mouthpieces while combining consistent contact with clear transmission of the rein aids. Depending on rein use, the action is distributed across the mouth, poll and, when used with a curb chain, the chin area.

The 18 mm single-jointed mouthpiece features a firm synthetic coating with a rigid core. According to the manufacturer, it is made from non-toxic, horse-safe synthetic materials and has a smooth surface. When the reins are taken up, the joint forms a V-shape that distributes pressure across the tongue and bars. The single-jointed construction provides direct communication and, according to the manufacturer, can be particularly suitable for horses with a higher palate.

The short stainless steel Pelham shanks provide mild, easily regulated leverage. The bit can be used with two sets of reins or a bit converter, allowing the rider to differentiate between direct and leverage action. A curb chain can also be used for additional stability and pressure distribution. The Velari Pelham Flex Single Jointed Short Medium is suited to horses requiring both direct snaffle influence and additional, controlled Pelham action.
