Velari Full Cheek Bit Double Jointed Sweet Iron - combines a double-jointed mouthpiece made from nickel-free Sweet Iron with fixed Full Cheek sides. The double-jointed construction distributes pressure evenly across the tongue and bars, while the Full Cheek sides provide additional lateral guidance and help keep the mouthpiece stable in the horse's mouth. Young or less experienced horses can particularly benefit from this steady and clear guidance.

The Sweet Iron mouthpiece naturally oxidises during use and develops a light patina over time. According to the manufacturer, this process encourages salivation and can support softer, more relaxed acceptance of the bit. The double-jointed design follows the contours of the horse's mouth while reducing the nutcracker effect associated with a single-jointed mouthpiece.

By reducing upward movement towards the roof of the mouth, the double-jointed construction is also suitable for horses with a lower palate according to the manufacturer. The fixed Full Cheek sides further stabilise the mouthpiece and support clear lateral guidance and precise rein aids.
