Velari Eggbutt Single Jointed Sweet Iron - combines a single-jointed mouthpiece made from nickel-free Sweet Iron with fixed Eggbutt sides. The single-jointed construction provides clear and direct transmission of the rein aids, while the Eggbutt rings keep the mouthpiece quieter and more stable in the horse's mouth. This makes the bit particularly suited to horses that appreciate a straightforward action with a clearly defined contact.

The Sweet Iron mouthpiece naturally oxidises during use and develops a light patina over time. According to the manufacturer, this process encourages natural salivation and can help promote acceptance and relaxation in the mouth. When the reins are taken, the single-jointed mouthpiece forms a V-shape and distributes pressure across the tongue and bars. According to the manufacturer, this construction can particularly suit horses with a higher palate that prefer a more clearly defined point of action.
