Eggbutt Gag Flex Single Jointed Medium

Velari Eggbutt Gag Flex Single Jointed Medium - combines a single-jointed Flex Medium mouthpiece with the lifting action of a gag bit. As the reins are taken up, a light upward action is created at the corners of the mouth together with an influence through the poll. This combination can support horses in finding better balance, developing greater self-carriage and becoming less inclined to lean on the rider's hand.

The mouthpiece is made from Velari's synthetic Flex Medium material, combining a completely smooth, non-metallic surface with medium firmness. This maintains comfortable contact while allowing rein aids to be communicated clearly. The Medium version provides more structure than softer Flex options without losing the characteristic qualities of a synthetic mouthpiece.

The single-jointed mouthpiece provides a direct and clearly defined action. When rein contact is applied, the joint forms a V-shape and, according to the manufacturer, acts primarily across the bars while relieving the centre of the tongue. This construction can be particularly suitable for horses with a higher palate or horses that prefer the clearly defined feel of a single-jointed mouthpiece. Due to the gag action, the Velari Eggbutt Gag Flex Single Jointed Medium is primarily intended for intermediate to experienced riders with quiet, refined hands.
